Le LivArt, Montreal

A space of inspiring creation.

At the heart of Plateau-Mont-Royal in Montreal is Le Livart, a multidisciplinary centre for contemporary art. Founders Cindy Tessier-Trudeau and Marc O’Brien-Miro saw the potential to transform the former presbytery belonging to Dominican friars into a place of higher learning of a different kind. The neo-Tudor-inspired building from 1933 was transformed by architectural firm La Shed into a structure containing a gallery (where pop-up exhibitions are a frequent occurrence), an event hall, artist studios, an art school, and a boutique, where you can find original pieces of art and design created by artists in residence.

Le Livart offers a varied program of courses for both young and old to learn more about contemporary visual arts and develop their creativity.
