Autumn Caipirinha Recipe From Sheringham Distillery

Sweet gin.

Caipirinha is Brazil’s national cocktail, traditionally made with a sugar-cane-based hard liquor. Here, the makers of Sheringham Seaside Gin have updated the recipe for the Pacific Northwest.

We included Sheringham in our list of the Best Gins Made in British Columbia, and the Vancouver Island–based distillery has been making waves elsewhere, voted Canadian Artisan Spirit of the Year at the 2020 CASC Awards.

This recipe is perfect for a decadent autumn cocktail on a chilly evening. Lime recalls summer, while the honey and gin help keep the cold at bay.

Here’s how to make the autumn caipirinha:

What you will need:

1.5 ounces Seaside Gin
1/2 a lime, cut into quarters
2 tablespoons of honey

How to make it:

Combine the lime wedges and honey in a rocks glass.
Muddle to release the juices.
Fill the glass with ice and add Seaside Gin.
Transfer the contents into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
Dump back into the original rocks glass
