37 King Street East
Built in 1903, the Omni King Edward Hotel was the first luxury hotel in Toronto. Its recent $46-million renovation showcases the old-world charm and vibrancy of Toronto past with a complete transformation of the spacious guest rooms, meeting spaces, lobby, restaurant, and bar.
The hotel’s 301 oversized guest rooms and suites, featuring the finest furnishings, custom bedding, and vintage crown mouldings, all include impeccably appointed marble bathrooms, perfecting the guest experience.
Both dining establishments—Victoria’s Restaurant and Consort Bar—were included in the revitalization. Executive chef Daniel Schick and his culinary team have updated the dining menus with local, seasonal ingredients and classic cooking methods. The hotel’s long-standing tradition of afternoon tea—a favourite activity of families and people-watchers since the turn of the 20th century—continues Friday through Sunday.
The Omni King Edward offers 26,455 square feet of flexible function space. More than 100 years after its debut, the iconic Crystal Ballroom is now open following a $6.5-million renovation. This timeless space has maintained its characteristic features with ornate mouldings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and stunning panoramic city views of Toronto.
The Omni King Edward Hotel is located in the historic Old Town neighbourhood of Toronto close to the financial, shopping, and entertainment districts.
