Prada Talisman
Charming amulets.
You would have had to look very closely to spot it: a string of brown-toned shells at Prada’s fall/winter 2017 show in Milan, the preview of Miuccia Prada’s first-ever jewellery collection. Labelled Prada Talisman, the 15-piece unisex line made its official debut in June, with pieces (necklaces, pendants, bracelets, rings, and earrings) inspired by the mystical, primeval qualities of the talisman. The result is a range of handcrafted compositions that highlight the relationship between the natural and the man-made world: carved wood, polished shell, and semi-precious stones are paired with intricate silver mouldings of animals on silver chains and fine strands of rope. Whether or not you believe in their purported magical powers, there is no denying that these amulets certainly have charm.
