On Board New York’s Latest Gastronomic Experience on the Water

Aman New York introduces a new way to explore the city.

After opening in the landmark Crown Building in 2022, last year Aman New York hotel at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street debuted a biannual experience guide featuring opportunities for Aman Club members and hotel guests to explore the city and its environs. This month, the 2024 spring-summer edition was released with a slate of new offerings, including Adventures on the Water, available through October.

The program, through a partnership with Barton & Gray Mariners Club, gives guests a perspective of the city’s skyline from the calming vantage of the water. Over four hours, participants will view iconic sites like the Statue of Liberty from an elite fleet of motorized yachts, including a 36-foot Hinckley Picnic Boat or a 48-foot Daychaser, which accommodates six to 12 passengers. The vessels have been customized with inviting seating areas and indoor-outdoor spaces that can be used for a wide range of events, be it a romantic proposal or a corporate brainstorming session, capped with dishes prepared by one of Aman New York’s master chefs.

The hotel’s latest experience guide also includes a host of excursions and programs ranging from the centuries-old martial art of jiu-jitsu to historian-guided gallery tours, culinary master classes, and ikebana flower-arranging workshops. Amateur photographers will enjoy the fashion and portrait photography classes through the hotel’s partnership with Leica, and young families staying at the hotel will appreciate the Wonderland Tea Parties at the New York Botanical Garden. Meanwhile, art aficionados can visit the renowned Storm King Art Center in New Windsor, which has one of the largest collections of contemporary outdoor sculptures in the United States. Participants depart from the city aboard a private Blade helicopter for a private, curator-led tour of Storm King and an Aman-prepared picnic lunch.
