Life is meant to be celebrated. Whether the occasion is grand or intimate, Deborah Lau-Yu of Palettera has made it her mission to convey these varied occurrences in a tangible, timeless manner. Launched six years ago with a focus on bespoke stationery, the company has grown from simply crafting save-the-dates and place cards to developing brand identities and staging events. Palettera’s portfolio revels in handcrafted details: intricate illustrations and imprinted gold foils are employed through techniques such as laser cutting, silk screening, and letterpress by way of the vintage machines in Lau-Yu’s Markham, Ontario, studio. Every impression is pulled by a human arm; there’s a quality of specificity present in every Palettera concept, resulting in understated, tailored collections.
