NUVO magazine: Christofle Clivage

In its almost two-century-long history, French silver company Christofle has collaborated with the likes of Man Ray, Jean Cocteau, and Gio Ponti for its world-renowned designs. For Clivage, one of its newest collaborative collections, Christofle’s creative team turns its gaze away from Europe and focuses on Seoul, Korea, tapping the mind of designer Jinsik Kim for the two-piece bowl collection. Each container, one round and one rectangular, is crafted from sleek silver and sturdy stone, marking Christofle’s very first use of stone within a collection. The bowls’ mixed materials bring them into a thoroughly contemporary realm—a pleasant, fresh direction for the company that will proudly celebrate its 185th anniversary next year.
