When legendary Italian yacht builder Ferretti Yachts launched its Custom Line marque in 1996, its aim was to offer a select subset of buyers the opportunity to experience the best of luxury yachts over 24 metres in length. While its first offering was a 27-metre model launched in 2000, demand for larger vessels saw the line quickly grow—figuratively and literally.
Fast forward to last month’s 2024 Monaco Yacht Show, and the builder caused jaws to drop among visiting media and dignitaries with the all-new Custom Line 50, an ultraluxurious 50-metre yacht constructed entirely of aluminum.
Yes, you read that right. Despite its generous 50-metre length, 9.6-metre beam, and four expansive decks, this brilliant yacht still weighs less than 500 gross tons thanks to its groundbreaking all-aluminum construction. What’s more, its lightweight hull means the yacht draws just 2.2 metres of water, permitting the Custom Line 50 to access smaller, shallower, and more intimate harbours than comparably sized vessels, opening thousands of new ports of call to exploration.
As the new flagship of Custom Line’s full displacement series, the 50 offers an innovative layout and sophisticated design that delivers a seamless experience indoors and out. The exterior styling, by the brilliant Filippo Salvetti, emphasizes the sleek lines and modern aesthetics that have come to define Ferretti’s Custom Line while still delivering the expansive outdoor leisure and entertainment spaces that discriminating owners demand.
For a perfect example, consider the yacht’s standout beach club, which integrates the stern outdoor area with the rest of the main deck. Envisioned as a private lounge with its unique rectangular pool in the stern, the beach club creates a serene, tranquil atmosphere for relaxation.
The interior design, crafted by ACPV Architects’ Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, focuses on sophisticated detailing and the use of fine, sustainable materials. That’s most evident in the master suite in the bow, which features floor-to-ceiling windows for a 180-degree view and direct access to a private terrace with a sunset solarium.
Elsewhere throughout its interior, Alpi Lignum walnut panelling and Foglizzo natural hides and leathers not only look great and provide a natural sense of warmth but are also fully in keeping with the yacht’s high level of sustainability.
The Custom Line 50 really delivers on its environmental pledge thanks again to its all-aluminum construction. By significantly reducing the yacht’s weight, the aluminum structure cuts fuel consumption by up to 15 per cent, resulting in a corresponding drop in greenhouse gas emissions. What’s more, the yacht comes equipped with the latest in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to further minimize emissions in alignment with modern environmental standards.

As a Custom Line yacht, the new 50 delights in every imaginable way with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and unwind in. The main-deck dining room seats 10 in comfort, while an outdoor space on the upper deck accommodates memorable meals al fresco. A sun deck bar offers further possibilities for drinks or snacks with a view to remember.
Up to 10 guests can join the fun with four lower-deck VIP suites to choose from. There is also space for up to nine crew, underscoring this yacht’s capability of exploring distant seas in absolute comfort. With its 5,500-litre fuel capacity and diesel-sipping Cat C32 engines, it can go a long, long way while sailing comfortably at 15 knots.
