Supreme x Louis Vuitton
Streetwear and savoir faire.
For nearly two decades, the only relationship that existed between iconic New York streetwear brand Supreme and French fashion house Louis Vuitton was a cease-and-desist letter. (Supreme had been selling skateboards which bore a design closely resembling the iconic LV monogram pattern, and let’s just say that toes were stepped on.)
And yet, like a phoenix rising from its ashes, the two labels have emerged from a rocky past to create a harmonious and hype-worthy team. The duo’s collection debuted at Louis Vuitton’s men’s fall/winter 2017 Paris Men’s Fashion Week show, initiating a wave of frenzy throughout the fashion community, where rumours of a collaboration had swirled for months.
Red leather bags, shirts, and even a tongue-in-cheek skateboard deck with its own carrying case debuted on the catwalk, all embellished with Supreme’s Futura Bold text logo and the LV initials. Perhaps time really does heal all wounds.
The roll out for Supreme x Louis Vuitton collection starts July 17, 2017 at Louis Vuitton stores.
