Award-winning mixologist and sommelier Lauren Mote and chef Jonathan Chovancek create seasonal cocktails featuring their handcrafted Bittered Sling Extracts.
When creating the Apple Cart cocktail, Mote selected flavours that pair well with apples, as well as flavours inspired by apples themselves. “This is a bourbon drinker’s Southern-style punch,” she says, and the result is both rich and balanced.
45 ml Maker’s Mark Bourbon
15 ml Campari
15 ml Amontillado Sherry
15 ml Lemon Juice
15 ml Apple Black Tea Syrup
2 dashes Bittered Sling Zingiber Crabapple Bitters
60 ml Sparkling Water
- Shake all ingredients (except sparkling water) with ice.
- Single strain over sparkling water in a Collins glass, swizzle to mix.
- Garnish with an apple fan, use a pick to hold in place.
