The Leather Craftsmanship of La Compagnie Robinson
Leather goods made to last.
In a little country workshop in Brigham, Quebec, La Compagnie Robinson’s Patrice Didier is handcrafting wallets, belts, log carriers, and other heirloom-quality items out of sturdy vegetable-tanned leather. Taking inspiration from a satchel passed down to him by his grandfather, after whom the brand is named, Didier has only been hand-stitching his leather items since 2016, but it’s already clear that they too will be passed on to loved ones after many years of wear.
When it comes to La Compagnie Robinson’s aesthetic, simplicity is key. Rather than looking to European artisans for design cues, simple workaday items such as leather ranch implements inform the details of each piece. Crafted of naturally tanned leather, La Compagnie Robinson’s items are limited to black, brown, whisky, and natural shades.
With a storefront location in nearby Sutton, La Compagnie Robinson leather goods are available for purchase alongside merch such as illustrated Robinson T-shirts. And as might be expected, the shop also sells a leather-care balm and oil to nourish and protect products that will be appreciated for generations to come.
