Le Grand Bellevue Hotel
Grandest in Gstaad.
Small and stylish with nearby slopes aplenty, Switzerland’s Gstaad is the envy of countless other ski destinations. Look no farther than the village entrance to seek out the strategically poised Le Grand Bellevue hotel. Celebrating its 101st anniversary this winter, the property was long overdue for an update before Geneva-born owner Daniel Koetser and his wife, Davia, stepped onto the scene. Along with her company Atelier Zürich, Davia executed the full interior redesign, adding whimsical touches such as “birdcage” chairs to the colourful lobby and rearranging the hotel’s Murano chandeliers to cascade down the entrance stairwell. Après-ski appeal is thoroughly five-star at Bellevue, and the hotel is outfitted with two cinemas, multiple bars, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and 300,000 square feet of spa.
