Larose Guyon Shines a New Light with the Saule Collection

Lighting inspired by nature’s beauty—all its wondrous shapes and textures—can transform a space, connecting interiors with the serenity of the outdoors.

Enter Larose Guyon Lighting, founded in 2015 by Audrée L. Larose and Félix Guyon in the village of Verchères northeast of Montreal on the St. Lawrence River. Before establishing the studio, Guyon graduated in industrial design, opening his firm Les Ateliers Guyon in 2012, while Larose specialized in interior and environmental design, creating commercial and residential interiors at La Firme. In a few short years, Larose Guyon has garnered international acclaim for its handcrafted lighting fixtures. “When we met, we realized that our joint vision could lead to something truly unique,” Larose says. “Felix has always been fascinated by lighting fixtures and the way light itself can transform a space. This passion drove us to explore lighting design, and we quickly discovered that it was the artistic avenue we both loved.”

Each Larose Guyon fixture is a statement piece, including the foliage-inspired Saule Collection, their latest release. “Each leaf in the Saule collection is meticulously cut and hand-formed by our talented team in our Verchères studio, with an immense amount of time, patience, and care invested into every detail,” Guyon says. The pair were inspired by the graceful movement of willow trees (saule is French for “willow”) and took approximately a year to bring the fixtures to fruition. “It took numerous attempts to refine the design, striving to find the perfect balance between the flowing grace of willow leaves and the fixture’s overall harmony. Achieving that balance of refined elegance while maintaining the natural, organic essence of the piece was a challenging but rewarding process,” Larose explains. Hanging from a set of metal arches, similar to a mobile, handblown pale-pink glass globes emit a soft, diffused light that contrasts with cascading aged-brass leaves. The collection features fixtures with one, three, or five pendants (the largest an impressive 13 feet long), as well as a modular option for different settings. “The result is a lighting fixture that captures the spirit of nature with timeless sophistication,” Larose says.

When creating the atmosphere of an interior space, lighting is paramount. And while few designers have mastered translating nature’s elegance into lighting, with its latest collection, Larose Guyon has captured it in spades. The result is fixtures that are sure to be the focal point of any room.
