The All-New Princess F58 Fly Soars Above Expectations

Fit for a princess.

Making its global debut earlier this year at the 2025 Düsseldorf boat show, the all-new F58 Fly from Princess Yachts came into a market with big shoes to fill, as the natural successor to the previous and well-loved F55 Fly model.

Replacing an iconic model is always a risky business, but in this case the British yacht builder hit it out of the park. The new boat beats its ancestor in virtually every way, and that’s saying something given that Princess built more than 180 F55s in all. So what’s all the fuss about?

It all comes down to extensive customer research and executing those findings with incredible attention to detail. The stern swim platform is a great example of this. The hydraulic platform is served by a drop-down, aft-facing transom seat that makes a lovely space in which to sit with a cool drink and cool your toes in the sea. The port end of the seat conceals a garage that’s large enough to accommodate a Seabob and which rests on drawer-type slides for easy stowage and retrieval. There’s even a plug for easy recharging.

On top of the transom is a large, deep storage cabinet for stowing wet water toys like masks, flippers, and snorkels. Alternatively, buyers can replace this cabinet with an outdoor kitchen if that’s more their speed, complete with a sink and a barbecue grill.

On either side of the swim platform, wide stairways lead up to the cockpit, where a forward-facing, U-shaped settee under a fibreglass hardtop is served by a beautiful wooden table on double chrome pedestals to create an enchanting dining space.

Wide passerelles on either side of the boat lead forward to the bow seating area, where a large forward-facing settee shares space with two oversized sunpads, each with a reversible backrest that can fold flat, face forward, or face the settee to create a comfy conversation space. A small cooler is concealed between the sunpads.

Step inside from the cockpit, and you find a large, well-equipped galley immediately to port, with the primary dining space positioned on the starboard side. This is a sensible layout that allows the galley to serve both indoor and outdoor dining spaces with equal convenience.

Two steps up lead forward into the salon, where a substantial U-shaped settee to port surrounds a freestanding coffee table and faces an armchair to create an inviting lounge space. To starboard, a drinks refrigerator is neatly concealed in the starboard side entertainment and bar unit, with a retractable HDTV on a power lift located immediately behind.

The main deck helm sits far forward on the starboard side of the salon, while along the centreline a wide stairway leads to the overnight accommodation below. The F58 Fly comes with a standard three-stateroom arrangement with the full-beam owner’s stateroom aft, a VIP stateroom forward, and a twin cabin amidships.

The twin cabin is bright and airy thanks to its large hull glazing and thoughtfully placed lighting, offering plenty of storage space for belongings. Up front, the VIP space enjoys direct access to the day head, plenty of storage space, and a large HDTV.

The owner’s stateroom sits just aft of the stairs and adjacent to the on-board laundry facilities. A central queen bed is surrounded by a dresser to starboard and a sitting area to port, each side well lit by large privacy glazing. Aft of the bed are substantial closets and storage spaces to starboard, with the ensuite head to port. The shower is particularly large for a yacht of this size, reflecting feedback from previous Princess customers.

Heading back upstairs to the cockpit, a wide portside stairway invites guests up to the flybridge deck, where a U-shaped settee to starboard surrounds a pedestal-mount dining table, which can lower to coffee table height for evening drinks under the stars. Aft and to port is a wet bar with a sink, cutting board, refrigerator, and useful trash bin. A standard Bimini top provides extended sun protection, while the optional hard top includes a sunroof. The forward end of the flybridge puts the helm console and two bucket seats to port, with a facing U-shaped settee to starboard.

Engines on the Princess F58 Fly are twin MAN V8-1000s or V8-1200s, giving the yacht a top speed in the range of 35 knots. Throttle back to a more leisurely 25 knots, and the yacht delivers a cruising range of about 300 nautical miles.

By every measure, the new F58 Fly from Princess Yachts sets new standards for comfort, versatility, and overall livability. Boaters in search of a yacht sufficiently large for entertaining guests while compact enough to be easily self-crewed will find a lot to like here.
