Opening on the island of Crete in 2025, Rosewood Blue Palace will mark the brand’s debut in Greece. An addition to the storied Blue Palace hotel will open as part of Rosewood Hotels, with the Greek Islands serving as inspiration for design, decor, hospitality, and cuisine.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2023, the Phāea Blue Palace boutique hotel will reopen in May 2024 with 47 bungalows and suites, followed by Rosewood Blue Palace, reimagined and renovated by Athens-based architects and interior designers K-Studio collaborating with sisters Agapi and Costantza Sbokou. The second-generation owners/hoteliers are committed to responsible tourism, sustainability, and showcasing Cretan hospitality.

Located near the Cretan port of Elounda, Rosewood Blue Palace will be nestled into the hillside of palm and olive trees, overlook a private beach, and feature 154 rooms and suites, including 85 with private pools. Bougainvillea, jasmine, and lavender grow throughout the tranquil site.

Afroditi Krassa will design the six dining and drinking options. The Greek-born, London-based interior designer’s previous projects include One& Only in Athens and Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay in London. Featuring specialty dining options, this island hotel will also include a beach club, a signature bar overlooking nearby Spinalonga Island, and ingredients sourced from local growers and the hotel’s organic garden.

The Rosewood Blue Palace’s wellness options will include Asaya Spa, fitness centre, yoga pavilion, movement studio, hydrotherapy, and three outdoor pools with views of the Mediterranean Sea.
