A light touch.

Dr. Dennis Gross LED Devices Come to Canada via Sephora

Celebrated New York-based dermatologist Dr. Dennis Gross’s eponymous skin-care line has many hits in its lineup—including its iconic two-step Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel—but none is more recognizable than its bestselling LED-light therapy devices, which have recently become available in Canada via Sephora’s website.

A mainstay on the social media feeds of many celebrities, off-duty models, and content creators, the hard-shell SpectraLite FaceWare Pro mask has become somewhat of a status symbol in the skin-care world, promising clinic-worthy results at home. The mask is worn on clean, dry skin to target a slew of common concerns with three preprogrammed settings. In three-minute daily sessions, the noninvasive treatments harness the power of red and blue light to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, erase dark spots, prevent skin laxity, reduce redness, and clear breakouts.

Red LEDs penetrate two to three millimetres deep to reach the epidermis, where they soothe inflammation and boost collagen to decrease signs of aging, while blue LEDs work on the outermost skin layer to destroy pesky acne-causing bacteria. The mask allows users to double up on the benefits by using both types of light at the same time. It’s not the kind of gadget you use once and forget about—results are quickly visible, especially when it comes to reducing redness, but it takes 10 weeks of daily use to really reap the benefits of the device.

Along with the full-face mask, the brand is bringing its DRx SpectraLite EyeCare Max Pro north of the border. For more targeted results, the eye mask is equipped with 96 red LED lights that work on four wavelengths to firm, smooth, and depuff the eye contour area—including crow’s feet and elevens—more effectively.
