Cliffside Serenity on the Côte d’Azur at The Maybourne Riviera

Surrenne Riviera introduces a wellness experience that blends science, serenity, and style.

A stay at The Maybourne Riviera feels something like floating on a cloud. Perched high on a rocky cliffside overlooking Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, a picturesque French town hugging the Mediterranean, the contemporary hotel embodies the breezy joie de vivre of the Côte d’Azur.

Each of the hotel’s 65 well-appointed rooms boasts a private terrace with ocean views, along with nearly every comfort imaginable, from spa-like bathrooms with freestanding windowside marble bathtubs, Japanese Toto toilets, and Dyson hairdryers to comfortable and refined blue-and-white interiors designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio or Rigby & Rigby.

The 24 especially luxurious suites are expansive, some sleeping up to ten people and spanning two levels or entire floors. Others have private infinity pools that seem to extend into the blue sky and sparkling sea far below. Guests at The Maybourne Riviera also enjoy transfer from Nice, access to the resort’s private beach club in Monaco, a number of complimentary classes and activities, and breakfast at the Riviera Restaurant—plus a bottle of champagne upon arrival.

And now, the sky-high opulence of The Maybourne Riviera extends to a sumptuous wellness experience. Following the opening of the brand’s first location in London last year, Surrenne Riviera adds a dose of longevity-minded luxury to the Côte d’Azur. Exceeding the typical hotel spa, the newly opened club offers not only a selection of treatments, massages, and Biologique Recherche facials but also longevity-focused retreats and stays and membership spots.

Under the guidance of an esteemed team of doctors and experts, which includes dermatologists, cellular biologists, fitness coaches, nutritionists, and sleep specialists, guests have access to a personal and holistic array of offerings that blend science and ancient traditions to improve the mind and body.

Conceived by Maybourne’s global head of design, Michelle Wu, the spa’s spaces are bright, feel serene, and take full advantage cliff-side location. Spreading across three floors, they echo the ethos of the rest of the hotel, with a palette of calming blues and earth tones accented with travertine and Moleanos stone and warm woods. Two of the club’s four studios open directly onto the terrace so guests can take a Pilates or spin class while a warm Mediterranean breeze blows gently through the room.

Also new this season: an updated and expanded culinary program. Joining Riviera Restaurant, poolside La Piscine, and Le 300 Bar, Abc Kitchens Riviera draws on the best of chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s three celebrated New York restaurants to present a summer dining destination on the hotel’s top floor, with a menu that celebrates organic local produce. For dining waterside, the hotel’s new beach club, La Môme Riviera, is the brainchild of legendary restaurateurs Ugo and Antoine Lecorché. A short drive from The Maybourne Riviera, it’s the ideal spot for those looking to enjoy a stylish and vibey lunch or dinner where they can soak in the very best of the Côte d’Azur.
