Caroline Mangosing’s New Fashion Brand Adds Colour to Canada’s Fashion Scene

Regalo Studios is a Canadian homegrown brand.

Caroline Mangosing jaywalks on Bloor Street, stopping traffic in a Regalo Studios look that the Toronto-based founder designed for herself. For those who have long been looking to make a statement, Regalo Studios offers a wardrobe that rejects muted colours and loose-fitting clothing.

Born in Manila, Mangosing was raised in Vancouver and Los Angeles. After decades of experience in art, culture, and history, she launched her first fashion brand in 2013, Vinta Gallery, which blends contemporary design with Filipino heritage.

Mangosing’s dedication to her second brand is just as personal. She says that before she started Regalo Studios, there was something missing for women who are 40 to 50-plus. “We listen to hip-hop. We’re interested in streetwear. We grew up in the ’80s and ’90s, with style influencers like Lisa Bonet and Chloë Sevigny.” She has noticed that people in that age range feel underrepresented, and “in fashion, we tend to become invisibilized as soon as we hit our mid-40s. But we’re here.”

Never one to be overlooked, Mangosing’s Regalo Studios brings a refreshed vision to Canada’s style, with dreams of a global takeover.
