Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight 18K

Golden time.

Tudor has entered uncharted territory with the introduction of the Black Bay 18K. The Tudor Black Bay Fight-Eight has been a popular watch since it was launched in 2018, with new variations, including a Marine Nationale-inspired model emerging last year. Now, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight comes in a solid 18-karat yellow-gold case, as the name suggests—a first for the brand, while retaining the 39mm diameter of previous generation models.

The entirely satin-brushed matte finish may seem counterintuitive with the traditional sheen typical of a gold watch, yet is so on point for the put-together without feeling too buttoned-down aesthetic. The case of the Black Bay 18K is another first for the brand: an open case back reveals the MT5400 calibre. The dial and bezel in matching green make for a winning combination with the gold.

The watch comes with both a green fabric strap and chestnut brown alligator strap. The $19,310 price tag does tip this Tudor timepiece to the top-end of the brand’s offering and time will tell how enthusiasts respond.
