Inspired Designs from Jake Oliveira Studio

Built to last.

Industrial designer Jake Oliveira was the kid who was obsessed with taking things apart and putting them back together. With a new eponymous studio in Toronto, his latest collection features a table and stool inspired by the industrial buildings of his hometown, Cambridge, Ontario. The Brik Stool and side table are compact studies in proportion that take cues from Kengo Kuma’s wood designs. The Roncy Dining Table has a sleek silhouette with an arced base and sand-cast metal foot rail. “You should have your dining table for most of your life,” he says. “I’m trying to find that happy medium of making something really beautiful and really well built. It’s going to last forever.”
