Dior Lady Art Project
Style find.
Handbag as canvas: This is the premise for Dior Lady Art, a project the French fashion house launched in 2016 to give artists carte blanche to reimagine Lady Dior. The handbag’s perennial design has endured since 1995, when Bernadette Chirac, the First Lady of France, gifted one to Princess Diana. In this latest iteration of Dior Lady Art, artists from the four corners of the world pay homage to the maison while injecting their own style into the hallmark piece. Of particular note is the interpretation of London-based Indian artist Raqib Shaw, who transformed the Lady Dior bag into a supernatural magnolia dreamscape—an artfully beguiling style accessory.
