The Gio Ponti Armchair
Take a seat.
Gio Ponti, the Milanese master, was a man of many talents. Architect, magazine editor, designer, artist, and academic, he blurred boundaries across creative disciplines.
Since 2012, Molteni&C has been reissuing furnishings designed by Ponti; each year, the Italian company adds to the collection, collaborating with the Ponti heirs to reintroduce signature pieces. The reissue of the D.156.3 armchair, designed by Ponti in 1956, is the most recent piece for Molteni&C’s Gio Ponti Collection and has a solid walnut or black semi-matte lacquered frame. The ergonomic backrest consists of criss-crossed elasticized straps that support the cushion, whose finishing options include a variety of textiles and leathers.
