To celebrate the special day with more than a card and a box of chocolates, bar manager Serhii Kulikov at Dahlia in Vancouver has developed a Valentine’s Day cocktail inspired by the glitz and glamour of the Roaring Twenties. Playing homage to the jazz clubs and speakeasies of Paris, the Deceptive Love cocktail has sweetness brought by the banana schnapps and warmth throughout courtesy of the Rooster Rojo Tequila Reposado. A sure winner for a first date or a 50th.

Valentine’s Day Cocktail

Ingredients

1.5 ounce Rooster Rojo Tequila Reposado
0.5 ounce banana schnapps
0.25 ounce demerara gum syrup
0.5 ounce Cocchi Americano
0.5 ounce lime juice
Candy hearts, to garnish

Method

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass.
Add ice.
Stir well to ensure a well-chilled concoction.
Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with candy hearts.
