First Look: Nobu Hotel Marrakech
Nobu Hotels’ debut in Africa brings a Nobu Restaurant and Bar, panoramic rooftop, and one of the largest Nobu Hotel spas to Marrakesh.
Opened in January 2023, Nobu Hotel’s new Marrakesh property is the first African outpost for the global lifestyle brand. In the heart of the city’s Golden Triangle, the 71-suite property includes the iconic Nobu Restaurant and Bar, a rooftop with panoramic views and a poolside terrace, and one of Nobu Hotels’ largest spas.
The hotel’s interiors reflect Nobu’s modern Japanese style, at this location accented with artwork from local artists and subtle, intricate details that pay homage to Morocco’s architecture and craftsmanship. Divided across three floors, the suites have views of either the Atlas Mountains or Marrakesh’s largest mosque, Koutoubia, and the opulent 2,368-square-foot penthouse’s wraparound verandah boasts views of both the mountains and the historic neighbourhood surrounding the hotel.
The Nobu Restaurant and Bar offers a selection of Nobu signature dishes including yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño and black cod miso, which can be enjoyed alongside new dishes from chef Nobu Matsuhisa that combine local flavours and ingredients. The dining room has a private entrance, a DJ deck, and a poolside terrace.
Up on the roof, guests can take in breathtaking 360-degree views of the city, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of a large circular pool or at the restaurant, which serves a selection of seasonal Moroccan, Mediterranean, and Japanese dishes.
For those looking to put their feet up, the 21,000-square-foot Pearle Spa houses hammams, relaxation areas, steam baths, saunas, a heated indoor pool, a gym, a beauty and hair salon, and a VIP spa suite.
Marrakesh is a destination of vibrant colours, flavours, and culture, all of which are celebrated at this new Nobu hotel. Escaping to Morocco just got that much more enticing.
