Cacao 70 Dip Shop, Vancouver

Few things have the ability to delight as reliably as a swirly cone of soft serve—especially one that has been dunked, momentarily, in liquid chocolate. It’s a classic treat, but the simple pleasure of chocolate on ice cream need not be limited to the familiar vanilla-chocolate flavour profile—not in the age of colourful food. Enter six-year-old Montreal-based “chocolate experience company” Cacao 70, which opens its second Vancouver location this month—a soft serve-centric Gastown café where visitors may dip their cones into any of 11 flavours of chocolate—from the classic (milk chocolate) to the colourful (pink Earl grey, green matcha, or rosy maple-spiked white chocolate). Belgian waffles will also be on hand to dunk. Care to take a dip?
