Charlotte Tilbury Drives F1 Academy Forward With First Female-Founded Sponsorship

The award-winning beauty brand (noted for its Pillow Talk lipsticks) founded by Charlotte Tilbury has partnered with F1 Academy, establishing its first sports sponsorship and making history as the first company founded by a woman to sponsor F1 Academy drivers. The program invests in the development of female race-car drivers to compete at a high level. They must be 16 to 25 years old when entering their first event of the season.

F1 Academy provides mentorship, physical training, and repetition on the track to guide young female race drivers to success and join F1.

“Motorsport has a huge female following, and the drivers of F1 Academy are already increasing representation and diversity in the sport,” Tilbury says. “With this partnership, we will use our global platform to elevate this new generation of fearless young female drivers and open up the traditionally male-dominated world of motorsport to even more talented young women.” Of the F1 fans that make up viewership, 40 per cent are women.

Supporting 15 female drivers behind the wheel of the Charlotte Tilbury car—embossed with the brand’s signature illustrated mouth with a lipstick between its teeth—is 18-year-old French racer Lola Lovinfosse. The Rodin Motorsport-operated car features the slogan “Makeup Your Destiny!” alongside the Charlotte Tilbury palette of reds, pinks, and rose gold.

Upcoming F1 Academy race locations include Miami, Barcelona, the Netherlands, Singapore, Quatar, and Abu Dhabi.
