Pink Tartan’s All-Canadian Collaborations

Celebrating 15 years in style.

Instead of a traditional runway show, Toronto womenswear label Pink Tartan got creative for its fall collection this year. As a fun way to celebrate the label’s 15th anniversary, designer Kimberley Newport-Mimran worked with some of her favourite local stylists and cross-country brands to curate and manufacture a range of limited-edition pieces across the apparel, home, and beauty categories for the season. Available online and at the Pink Tartan store in Yorkville starting this week, the Canadian Chic collection includes products designed in conjunction with Canadian brands including Greta Constantine, TKees, Province Apothecary, and Leaves of Trees.

For Newport-Mimran, it’s an opportunity to collaborate with some of the homegrown talents she admires to develop unique pieces with a Pink Tartan twist. For example, jewellery designer Jenny Bird produced cufflinks—for the first time—that pair perfectly with Pink Tartan’s signature dress shirts, and Newport-Mimran convinced indie handbag brand Brunswick + Co. to add lush pink fur to their classic leather bag. “We worked together to create these must haves for the season,” says Newport-Mimran. “[It was] such an energized way to collaborate with editors, designers, and manufacturers.”
