Exploring the Rebel 50 G Yacht From Sacs Tecnorib

Rebel Rebel.

Italian sport yacht builders have enjoyed a long and glorious history of turning out fresh, emotive, and exhilarating designs that blend comfort and performance. It’s a heritage that lives on in some of today’s most exciting launches, including the brilliant Rebel 50 G from Sacs Tecnorib.

Sporting a stunning design by Christian Grande, the Rebel 50 G builds on the company’s heritage of building high-performance, rigid-hull inflatable boats, applying lessons learned over decades on the high seas to the fresh hard-hull designs that represent its new Rebel series. Unveiled at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show, the Rebel 50 G quickly established itself as the belle of the ball. That Monaco crowd isn’t easy to impress, so it’s worth taking a closer look.

Step aboard at the stern, and the Rebel’s focus on fun without limitations quickly becomes obvious. The swim platform is enormous, illustrating this yacht’s playful intentions. The Rebel is clearly a boat with a youthful spirit, made for active owners who plan to spend their time on the water doing more than just taking in the sun.

That said, a bit of time soaking up some natural vitamin D is never a bad thing, especially after a refreshing dip or checking out the local sea life with a mask and snorkel. A stern-facing sun lounge provides the perfect spot to indulge while enjoying panoramic views. It also neatly conceals the yacht’s tender garage.

The forward face of the sun pad is configured as an enticing settee, protected by an overhead hard top and a powered extendable sunscreen to neatly blend the outdoor space with the salon immediately ahead. The entire aft end of the salon is wide open, which, combined with the louvred overhead sunroof and opening side glazings, lets the fresh sea air circulate throughout, yet when cruising in cooler weather, closing the roof and side windows keeps everyone well protected from the chilly air.

The huge side windows and louvred overhead create a bright and attractive salon space, where an L-shaped settee surrounds a beautiful wood table. To port, an attractive galley station and wet bar serve the area well with a sink, fridge, and ice maker.

Below decks, the Rebel 50 G comes equipped with a twin guest cabin, a spacious head, an appealing lower salon for late-night lounging, and a delightful owner’s suite forward. Large side glazings flood the spaces with natural light while affording appropriate privacy, while generous headroom keeps the lower deck from ever feeling tight.

The height of the lower deck is neatly hidden to the outside world, with the yacht’s bow concealing the high ceiling with a delightful forward sun lounge—wide enough for three, like the stern pad—preceded by a pair of forward-facing loungers in the far-forward bow. Accessed by wide side promenades, the bow is an attractive, intimate space for enjoying the sea views or admiring the sunsets.

On the other side of the sharply raked windscreen lies the helm, with its multiple touch screen displays, twin sport bucket seats, and sport steering wheel. It looks like something straight out of a private jet: neat, polished, and straight to the point, with every possible bit of engine, operational or navigational data instantly available at the flick of a fingertip.

As for performance, Sacs Tecnorib might as well be an Italian euphemism for “get there quickly,” and that’s evident in the Rebel 50 G. Twin Volvo Penta IPS 950 pod-drive eco diesels churn out a staggering 1,400 horsepower combined, giving the big Rebel a cruising speed of 28 knots and a top speed of 36. Combined with the yacht’s performance hull, the result is jaw-dropping acceleration and the kind of nimble handling one expects from a Sea-Doo, rather than a luxury yacht.

With its unique blend of elegance and performance, Sacs Tecnorib’s Rebel 50 G will evoke the rebellious spirit in all of us.
