Actor Théodore Pellerin Takes to the Streets of Paris

The budding star from Quebec is your next heartthrob.

Quebec actor Théodore Pellerin, known for on-screen roles in On Becoming a God in Central Florida, There’s Someone Inside Your House, and myriad other TV and film projects, doesn’t rest on his laurels. With a Canadian Screen Award win for Chien de garde already under his belt, the 25-year-old continues to land parts in English and French productions, with upcoming roles in Apple TV+’s Franklin, an eight-episode drama about Benjamin Franklin’s petition for French aid during the American Revolution, and a feature film titled Solo. Despite Pellerin’s success in the past decade, he is surprisingly not career obsessed. “I don’t think your career is something particularly interesting for anyone but yourself,” he says. “Of course, I have to think of mine sometimes because it can affect my choices.”

The actor tries not to view the projects he takes on through the lens of long-term career growth but rather based on their individual merit. It makes sense that he prioritizes creative integrity—the son of a painter and a choreographer, he has artistic spirit in his blood. Though he wasn’t initially interested, he ended up attending a performing arts high school where he developed a love of acting.

Pellerin got his professional start while still a teenager in his role as Sammy in the French Canadian TV show 30 Vies, a drama following the lives of a high-school class through the eyes of their teacher. Other Quebec TV credits include La théorie du K.O., 19-2, and most recently, Pour toi Flora.

As his reach expands to include more international projects, with appearances in The OA and Maid and roles in feature films including My Salinger Year, Mayday, and Never Rarely Sometimes Always, Pellerin continues to deliver moving performances. Expect to see much more of the young actor in the years to come. As for what drives him, it’s simple: good acting.

“There isn’t much that moves me more than seeing someone great on a screen or a stage,” he says. “I think that’s still my favourite part of it, being impressed by others. And doing it can give a true sense of freedom. It’s liberty within very confined limits.”
