First Look: Sedona’s Exceptional New Landscape Hotel

For the love of nature.

In Sedona, Arizona, Ambiente, the new adults-only, nature-focused hotel opening February 1, is made up of 40 cube-shaped glass atriums. The 576-square-foot rooms offer panoramic views of Red Rock Country, including Coconino National Forest to the north and the famous Steamboat, Chimney, Coffee Pot, and Snoopy red rock formations to the south and east.

To blend in with the topography, each atrium is on raised steel piers and combines floor-to-ceiling bronze-tinted glass with matte-charcoal and rusted metal. “This has been a labour of love for our family over the past five years, and we have been so overwhelmed by the outpouring of interest and support from future visitors around the world,” says Jennifer May, co-founder of Two Sister Bosses, a Sedona family development company. “We’re now ready to pull back the curtain and showcase what we believe is one of the most spectacular settings in all of America.”

Each atrium features custom wallpaper, live-edge wood furnishings, and earth-toned materials, plus a kitchenette, restocked daily with complimentary refreshments. The vibe is cozy and tranquil with warm mood lighting, deep tubs to relax in, and private rooftop decks for stargazing at night.

In the main lobby, the Velvet Spa offers a wide range of restorative treatments using locally sourced ingredients. At the centre of the property, breakfast and dinner are available at Forty1, the hotel’s signature full-service restaurant run by executive chef Lindsey Dale, who is dedicated to showcasing the abundance of the Verde Valley with seasonal modern American cuisine. Adjacent to Forty1, the Drifter is open for casual dining all day.

The pool and spa can be used year round as the water is heated in cooler weather. Activities such as yoga, sound healing classes, guided stargazing sessions, poolside films, craft cocktail classes, and chef’s tasting dinners change according to the season.

During its opening month, Ambiente is offering introductory rates starting from $899 per night.
