The Missoni Family Cookbook
Family, food, feste.
A new cookbook welcomes readers into the kitchen of the Missoni family with recipes, photography, and personal anecdotes as vibrant as the Italian fashion house’s famous knits. The Missoni Family Cookbook is authored by Francesco Maccapani Missoni, son of the company’s creative director Angelina Missoni, who seeks to preserve and share his family’s favourite recipes, which have been passed down and shared with guests for generations.
As these recipes are precious to the Missoni family, readers will find them frequently linked to specific relatives—for instance, there is Nonno Tai’s roasted prawns, great-grandmother’s minestrone, and aunt Teresa’s fruit sorbets—along with tender shared memories or old family photos. Organized by course and seasonality, recipes are wholesome and straightforward, working to showcase whatever is fresh. For spring, that means bitter puntarella with anchovy dressing; vignarola, an herbaceous artichoke, pea, and fava bean stew; and elderflower biscuits with vanilla bean, a classic Milanese breakfast treat.
A recipe book, family photo album, and memoir all in one, The Missoni Family Cookbook is a beautiful ode to the joy of making and sharing good food.
