Drypond: Understated Eyewear Designed in Vancouver
A new-school disruptor.

Aidan Cheung, who founded the Vancouver-based eyewear brand Drypond, likes vintage frames from the 1950s to ’70s, but after struggling to find a pair to fit his face shape, he decided to start his own brand. To bring Drypond to life, Cheung turned to his father, an established eyewear artisan and manufacturer for nearly 50 years. Each Drypond frame is handcrafted in the family’s manufacturing facility in Shenzhen—“Drypond” is the English translation of the geographical area where it is located—using Italian acetate and featuring polarized UV filter lenses and fine titanium nose pads. Drypond offers sleek sunglasses with a sturdy but lightweight build at an accessible price point.
