Unisex Watch Collection from Gucci Is Pushing Boundaries
Get a Grip.

Gucci is staking out new territory with the premiere of its first unisex watch collection. Gucci Grip, unveiled during Baselworld, is a series of new quartz watches with a retro vibe. Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s creative director, has a well-known reverence for the 1970s, and so it’s no big surprise that the Grip grooves to the max.
The collection is composed of four new timepieces: one, a yellow gold PVD case and bracelet (pictured), and another comes in stainless steel—both are engraved with the interlocking Gucci G logo. Two others are offered with coloured leather straps: hunter green with a steel case or Bordeaux with a yellow gold case. The design-savvy dials of all four models feature no watch hands, rather windows—three rotating discs act as indicators for hours, minutes, and the date, making for easy legibility.

Swiss-made, 35 mm grip watch: one of many sleek designs from the Grip line.
As the Gucci universe continues to expand, the “Guccification” phenomenon proliferates with Grip, a much-needed accessory for the wrist.
