Tiffany Titan Jewellery Collection by Pharrell Williams Now Includes Pearls

These are not your grandmother’s heirlooms.

The pearl gets the Pharrell Williams treatment as Tiffany Titan, the jewellery collection designed by the famed musician and designer for Tiffany & Co., has expanded. The collection of 18-karat yellow gold and titanium pieces released earlier this year is a union of punk and traditional with necklaces, bracelets, and earrings defined by spiked edges, nodding to Poseidon’s fabled trident. At the time, Williams said his inspiration for the inaugural jewellery collection came “from my affinity with the water; and the name of Titan draws influence from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, King of Atlantis.” But also, “Atlantis is the name of the community where I grew up in Virginia Beach.”

Pearls have been a hallmark of Tiffany & Co. from the time Abraham Lincoln gifted freshwater pearls to his wife for the presidential inaugural ball in 1862. Before that, “in Japan, it was believed that pearls were created from the tears of mythical water creatures, so I naturally gravitated towards them as a means of expressing this connection to water,” Williams notes. The newest Tiffany Titan designs are five unique styles: a statement necklace, an exceptional bracelet, an attractive pendant, drop earrings, and a double-row ring. Playful, irreverent, and geared to a new generation, the Tiffany Titan pearl designs are primed to take their place as the style staple of this era.
