First Look: Mercedes-Benz Vision AMG

A super performance all-electric future.

At The Maybourne Riviera in the Côte D’Azur, Gorden Wagener, chief design officer of Mercedes-Benz Group AG had a surprise to reveal. Pulling back the heavy drapery that enshrouded the contents of a purpose built tent, Wagener revealed Mercedes-Benz’s new Vision AMG, an extraordinary show car. “The Vision AMG shows in spectacular style what electrification could look like at Mercedes-AMG,” said Wagener. Staying true to the brand’s aesthetic, the proportions of the four-door coupé are defined by a long wheelbase emphasized by short overhangs, powerful shoulders, large wheels, a distinctive rear spoiler, and star-shaped headlamps.

“The Vision AMG is embodiment of our dual polarity—the interplay of beauty and the extraordinary,” said Wagener. “Elements from the future, such as the light signatures with the illuminated high-tech grille underscore the progressive evolution of our design language of sensual purity.” Building on the Vision EQXX, the Vision AMG is another step towards the all-electric future of AMG.
