Emerson Fry
An autumn preview.
Emerson Fry knows who she’s dressing. Her clientele want to be prepared and polished, and invest in clothes with ease, forgoing complicated trends. As her eponymous line, Emerson Fry (formerly Emersonmade) continues its steady climb towards small empire, Fry’s commitment to streamlined basics and quality construction has resulted in a dedicated following. Today, she previews her fall/winter 2013 collection online. Among the items that will roll out September 10, when the online boutique reopens, are a dark navy wool peacoat with a Persian lamb collar, a gusset coat in three Italian mill fabrics, the slouchy-fit Pilot pant, and Italian-produced Patchtoe slingbacks (a frequent request of Fry’s customers). Much of the forthcoming collection is inspired by menswear; a fit that falls in a clean line as opposed to hugging the body. Fry’s large vintage archive inspires the collection as well. Coats are made to warm to the core, a throwback to a generation of women who invested in beautiful, quality pieces with longevity, so as to pass them on to younger generations. And Fry is certainly designing with a quality woman in mind.
