Channel David Bowie and Embrace Your Inner Rebel Rebel

The spirit of a RIB with a superyacht’s soul.

It’s young. It’s playful. It’s sophisticated. It’s more than a little avant-garde. The Rebel 55 by Italian boat builder Sacs Marine is a joyous weekender that’s more than capable of holding its own when moored among the luxury yachts. And with the addition of Christian Grande’s stylistic touch, the Rebel takes on a new level of dynamism and energy.

The Rebel 55 is a rigid hulled inflatable boat, or RIB for short. Built by Sacs and designed by Christian Grande, even the manufacturer calls it “the unconventional one.” There’s no room for misunderstanding here—this boat’s nature is playful and sporty, and its lines are truly original.

It’s impossible to not be moved by its long, elegant hull, the sinuous hardtop that appears to float above the helm, and the snorkel air intakes that evoke power and speed. Stretching a full 17 metres in length, the Rebel 55 rides on a generous 5.28-metre beam that allows for a spacious helm area with four-across forward-facing seating, where the captain and three co-pilots can enjoy the ride in comfort. The helm console features a full glass dash consisting of three side-by-side Raymarine multifunction displays that have a fresh, contemporary look and give the operator tremendous flexibility.

The Rebel 55’s generous beam also permits a full perimeter walkaround so passengers can easily move throughout the boat on either side of the prominent central wheelhouse.

Aft of the helm, facing sofas share an elegant pair of wood tables, creating an inviting space for al fresco drinks, snacks, and conversation with magnificent views. Farther aft, a stunning central sun lounge spans the stern, with steps either side providing direct access to the spacious swim platform. A retractable ladder on the starboard side means easy reboarding after a dip.

The large bow seating and sunning spaces can be reached via the side walkarounds. A comfortable forward-facing sofa and a second, generously sized sundeck offer further opportunity to unwind and relax.

The Rebel 55’s width also allows room below for two generously proportioned cabins with a separate bathroom and shower, as well as a comfortable and modern living area for unwinding before bed.

The Sacs Rebel 55 comes in an inboard version, equipped with twin 725-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS 950 engines, or as an outboard model with four 600-horsepower Mercury V12 Verados. The inboard offers an open stern configuration with an unobstructed swim platform, while the outboard boat provides greater power and performance.
