The Show-Worthy Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Sapphire

For the 25th anniversary of its L.U.C collection, Chopard released a trilogy of L.U.C timepieces at Watches and Wonders in Geneva earlier this year. The L.U.C Full Strike Tourbillon, L.U.C Full Strike Sapphire (pictured), and L.U.C Strike One are the latest in the Haute Horlogerie L.U.C collection of chiming watches. Chopard co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele fine-tuned the acoustics of the sapphire gongs with the Capuçon brothers, who are cello and violin virtuosos. The full-sapphire crystal case is powered by the L.U.C 08.01-L calibre and remains a technical tour de force as impressive as when first released in 2016. A limited release of five pieces, this is one show-worthy wristwatch.
