The Defender Service Awards Recognizes Three Canadian Nonprofits With Customized Land Rover Vehicles

Squamish Search and Rescue, Honour House Society and Manitoba Underdogs Rescue were awarded vehicles equipped for their services and monetary prizes to continue their efforts.

Honour House Society was awarded a new Defender vehicle.

Three heroic services in B.C. and Manitoba have been honoured at the Defender Service Awards: Honour House Society, Squamish Search and Rescue, and Manitoba Underdogs Rescue.

B.C.’s Honour House provides a “home away from home” for those in the Canadian Armed Forces, Emergency Services Personnel, and veterans receiving care and medical treatment, along with their families, at no cost. The organization has received a Land Rover Defender vehicle, customized to fit the needs of the personnel using them. Squamish Search and Rescue and Manitoba Underdogs Rescue—a rehabilitation and care service for unwanted dogs, helping to put them into loving homes—have also been recognized for their exceptional humanitarian efforts with new Defenders.

Since 2021, the British brand Defender has awarded charitable organizations and teams across Canada and the United States in six categories: Animal, Wildlife & Marine Welfare Award; Community Services Award; Search, Rescue & Emergency Support Services Award; Veteran & Civil Servant Outreach Award; Outdoor Accessibility & Education Award; Defender Service Honorees Award.
