Tank à Guichets is the Cartier Model We Are Obsessing About at Watches and Wonders
A vintage model is reborn.

What’s old is new again, and for Cartier that means the revival of a beloved model from the 1920s. The Tank à Guichets is the Cartier most are lusting for at Watches and Wonders. Made famous by jazz legend Duke Ellington, the Tank à Guichets is making a triumphant return in 2025.
The ingenious design features a jumping hour display and a dragging minute marker hidden behind a façade. There are four takes, all rectangular with a 37.6-millimetre x 24.8-millimetre ratio, in yellow gold, rose gold, and platinum. Each has a square jump aperture where 12 o’clock would be, while the minutes display, as if smiling at you, is at the bottom of the dial. There is also a limited-edition platinum model of only 200 pieces, on which the time display is rotated counter-clockwise 90 degrees. On all, the crown is tucked away at the 12 position with the face of each watch smoothly brushed for an industrial finish.
In its previous life, the Tank à Guichets was a bespoke order for top clients. Today, it is intended for anyone looking to pay a pretty penny (pricing has yet to be revealed).
