Aquileia, Italy-based CNB Yachts looks to make waves at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival with a successor to its highly acclaimed Bordeaux 60—its all-new CNB 62.
With the recent launch of the new CNB 62, the iconic yacht builder marks a new era of refined performance cruising with the vessel’s elevated design and Mediterranean soul, according to the firm. What is clear is that the CNB 62 is not so much just another new yacht as a bold statement about the future of elegant ocean living.
This is a significant launch for CNB, as the first major release under its renewed identity as part of the Solaris Group, one of the world’s most respected yacht builders. “The CNB 62 represents a perfect symbiosis of our French DNA benefitting from the exceptional expertise of Italian craftmanship,” says CNB brand director Vincent Arnaud. “It’s a yacht designed for owners who expect both comfort and capability—a real bluewater cruiser that doesn’t compromise on elegance. The design and layout ensure that it can be sailed by a couple but is not too small to invite friends and family on board.”
With its sleek and purposeful lines, the CNB 62 reflects the fluid aesthetics of long-time CNB design partner Philippe Briand. The vertical bow, the low-profile coach roof, and the tapered side windows create a streamlined look that hints at the yacht’s sailing credentials while maintaining a sense of understated luxury. Designed as a safe and comfortable world cruiser that can be self-crewed for the utmost in privacy, the CNB 62 features steering wheels positioned far forward, close to the cockpit seating area to allow improved operator protection from either a Bimini or a hardtop.
The cockpit is also designed for safe and comfortable cruising. High backrests provide comfortable seating, while thoughtful touches like a sideways offset companionway (which allows the cockpit table to be easily passed even when fully occupied) speak to this yacht’s gentler side. Particularly noteworthy is the carbon Targa arch which stretches over the cockpit while holding the mainsheet—a neat design trick that protects cockpit occupants from the sail when underway.
Ample lounging spaces are integrated into the aft deck, where sun pads nestle around a fold-out dining table. The retractable bathing platform transforms the transom into a private beach, providing easy water access and enhancing the onboard lifestyle for extended cruising or anchoring in secluded coves. If owners and guests need to use the tender, a longitudinal garage accommodates a 2.85-metre Williams.
Step below deck, and the CNB 62 reveals an interior that rivals those of exclusive residences. Created by Jean-Marc Piaton and his studio, the interior reflects the CNB philosophy of casual sophistication, with subtle hues and textures conveying an atmosphere of calm. The palette is soft and contemporary—think brushed oak, pale leather, and matte-finished fittings—for an upscale yet unpretentious feel.
Two layout configurations are available, but each begins with a central saloon flooded with natural light from the panoramic windows and signature CNB skylights. To port, a U-shaped sofa and dining area offer panoramic views, while to starboard, a dedicated chart table and lounge create a sense of private retreat. Forward, an open galley is fully equipped to serve long voyages and social occasions alike.
The forward owner’s cabin features a central island bed, generous storage, and an ensuite with rainfall shower. Farther aft, two double cabins—available in twin or double configurations—offer equally refined accommodation for guests.
The builder says the CNB 62 marks a celebration of slow, purposeful travel, and that’s easy to appreciate in today’s hectic world. If you’re looking for a change of pace, then come see for yourself when the CNB 62 makes its official public debut next month at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
