Attached to the newly opened 1 Hotel Toronto is a dining oasis that shares the same “environment first” ethos as the hotel. 1 Kitchen offers a sustainable selection of nuanced garden-to-table dishes, using an assortment of fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown in its organic garden pavilion.
The design is meant to capture the essence of nature in an urban metropolis. The décor utilizes lots of greenery, refurbished woods, and earthy hues that transport diners into an arboreous head space, fully complementing the food.
Each dish is made with organic in-season ingredients from the onsite garden and local purveyors. The menu items are thoughtfully plated by executive chef Derek Power Jr. and his team. We recommend their local charcuterie board, or harvest board as a vegetarian alternative, to try a variety of the organic selections.
At 1 Kitchen, you can also try a variety of fresh juices and smoothies made on location. If you need a stronger sip or want a nice happy hour, the juice bar options are also used in a handful of their cocktails as well (still counts as a green juice, right?).
Adjacent to 1 Kitchen lives Flora Lounge, 1 Hotel’s charming lobby bar. Emulating the same themes found throughout the premises, the bar is adorned in nature-inspired emblems and motifs that impart a luxurious, yet warm and comforting feel. Flora Lounge is an impressively designed social hideaway that invites the city’s movers and shakers.
