Karman Provides Illuminated Luxury

Within a boxy aluminum frame painted black or white, a large and a small illuminated orb appear to float in Karman’s Abachina lantern, made in three sizes, including a wall-mount. From German designer Edmondo Testaguzza, the blown-glass spheres reference an abacus’ moving beads. Though each globe is fixed, their asymmetry creates a sense of motion, two planets in orbit within a rectangular solar system. A small tray on top with a hole for cables offers a discreet storage solution or a shelf for a vase or ornament.
