Longines Makes Its First Carbon Watch: The Ultra-Chron Carbon

A dramatic timepiece.

The Longines Ultra-Chron line expands with the brand’s first carbon watch: Ultra-Chron Carbon. While the Ultra-Chron was first launched in 1968, making history as the first dive watch to feature a high-frequency movement, the new Ultra-Chron Carbon combines the heritage of its predecessors with a modern material: carbon. The 43-millimetre cushion-shaped case is made from strips of unidirectional carbon fibre combined with epoxy resin. While substantial to the eye, the watch weighs less than 80 grams, is water resistant with a 300-metre depth rating, and is fitted with a black technical strap with a titanium buckle. The result makes for a dramatic timepiece.
