Theory + Essence on North Vancouver’s Lonsdale Avenue brings together dentistry and spa treatments. It is owned and operated by Dr. Farshid Shahbazi, who has practised dentistry for 20 years, and his wife, Naz Shahbazi, the brains behind the spa side.
“Dr. Shahbazi is passionate about creating the most natural smiles possible using cutting-edge dentistry techniques,” Naz says. “Combining dental and medi-spa to provide the best facial aesthetics under one roof made a lot of sense to us. This new adventure of blending facial care with our already effective dental care regimen will take our clients’ experience further.”
The stunning 6,000-square-foot space features creamy Calcutta marble, warm wood, and attractive lighting, creating a spa atmosphere completely unlike a dentist’s office. Both sides of the business use state-of-the art technology, services, and products, with Dr. Burgener, Biologique Recherche, and Auteur items also available for purchase. A menu of facial rejuvenation treatments using those lines is a way to try before you buy.
Naz says the most popular treatment is the Precious Gold Cru and Green Caviar Facial, which combines Dr. Burgener Repairing Grand Cru Gold Complex and Repair Green Caviar Cream. And she is particularly excited about the launch of Auteur products at Theory + Essence. “All of Auteur’s products feel luxurious on your skin while simultaneously improving a multitude of cellular functions, allowing for a more curated routine that delivers accelerated results with fewer steps,” she says.
Dental products from Supersmile, Cocofloss, and Swiss Smile are also among the retail offerings, replacing typical drugstore toothpastes, whiteners, and flosses in medicine cabinets.
