Cartier’s Timeless Tank
A centenary celebration.
Celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, the Tank watch by Cartier has seen many iterations throughout the years, but its characteristic Roman numeral dial and quadrilateral face can still be identified from afar. Cementing its place as an horological icon is the long list of those who have worn the Cartier Tank: Andy Warhol, Yves Saint Laurent, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, to name just a few.
This fall, to honour the centenary celebration, Cartier released some anniversary models: a stainless-steel version of the Tank Française, set with brilliant-cut diamonds; a stainless-steel take on the Tank Américaine; six new versions of the Tank Louis Cartier; and the Tank Cintrée Skeleton in 18-karat white gold and 18-karat rose gold. There has been and will continue to be a Tank for every taste.
