Beauty School Is Back in Session With Hermès’s Latest Beauty Collection
Trait d’Hermès eyeliner pencils are tried and true.

At a time when the beauty market is flooded with gimmicks disguised as innovations, there’s something refreshing about the deceptive simplicity of a pencil that offers endless possibilities. Inspired by back-to-school essentials, Hermès’s latest beauty collection taps into childhood’s boundless creativity and playful energy with pencils for lining eyes and lips, a liquid eyeliner, and a range of tools that include elegant sharpeners and brushes.
The Trait d’Hermès eyeliner pencils are available in 24 matte and iridescent shades, ranging from classics like Noir Fusain and Brun Bistre to peppy hues like the house’s signature Orange Boîte. The firm tip delivers a precise, long-lasting line, which can be smudged with the built-in brush for a lived-in look. The lip pencils come in 16 matte shades created to complement the brand’s Rouge Hermès lipsticks and can be used to define or blur the lips. Designed by Pierre Hardy, the brushed-metal and lacquered-wood objets are an ode to the fashion house’s equestrian roots and evoke the obstacle bars used in show-jumping events.
Keeping on theme, the refillable eyeliner evokes the cartridge fountain pens once used in classrooms, and the brush can be used for precision work or thicker statement-making flicks.
