In the late 1920s, the Maybach name was building a reputation with the well-to-do, but it needed one more push. Then came the LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin, the airship that circumnavigated the world. Fortunately for the auto division, the Zeppelin was powered by five Maybach V12 engines.
Described as the shipyard’s first 100 per cent wide-body vessel and stretching almost 100 feet in overall length, the Ferretti 1000 is the fruit of a new design partnership between Ferretti Group (led by engineer Piero Ferrari), naval architect Filippo Salvetti, and Ideaeitalia, who created the inviting interior design. The result is an exciting new flagship for the Italian marque.

When I arrive, the hot winds of summer are blowing down the mountains, melting the ice caps and filling the Athabasca River as it runs through the small mountain town of Jasper, filling the lakes and marshes with glacial water that reflects the massive peaks in its deep blue water.
What sets Martínez apart is his effort to disrupt the problematic food systems that have left out the voices of the farmers. He focuses on sustainable practices that include minimizing food waste, sourcing ingredients seasonally, and employing indigenous and local growers.
During the two-week festival, Chopard took over the rooftop at the Hotel Martinez, transforming it into a club overlooking the Croisette.
There is a humbleness about this approach that seems to respect the topography, the grandness of the mountains, that seems to have inspired the home itself with the Café Canal stone walls and the multiplane roof.
