The Secret Is Out: Omega Releases a New Aqua Terra Watch in 30mm
A small but mighty addition to the Aqua Terra lineup.

The Aqua Terra timepiece by Omega has been a goes-with-everything sports watch since it was introduced in 2002. Now, it is available in a dedicated 30-millimetre case size with 12 new references plus, more importantly, two movements engineered specifically for this model. This is “an incredible launch in Omega’s history,” said Raynald Aeschlimann, the president and CEO of Omega, as he welcomed a select group of journalists to Kyoto, Japan, for the launch. “The secret is not that we are working with a Japanese movement,” he joked. “I respect them all, but at Omega we do things different.”
The new Aqua Terra models are not just the launch of a new product but also “the beginning of a new chapter at Omega,” Aeschlimann continued. After four years of development, the new 8750 and 8751 calibres are 20 millimetres in diameter and 3.98 millimetres thick (4.08 millimetres for the 8751 because of the thicker gold rotor). Small yet powerful and precise, they feature the Co-Axial escapement, and each is certified Master Chronometer.
All the watches have a metal bracelet—steel, Sedna Gold, Moonshine Gold, and two-tone options—and a variety of dial colours, including black, grey, blue, purple, brown, green, champagne, and mother-of-pearl. Each has applied hour markers, as well as a date window at six o’clock along with Omega’s patented screw-and-pin system that features a butterfly clasp with side pushers and a two-millimetre comfort-adjustment feature plus the option of diamond-set bezels.
“This watch is definitely for ladies,” Aeschlimann asserted. A celebration of femininity and all its forms.
