Autumn, Issue 110, Out Now
An introduction to the new edition of NUVO, from editor Claudia Cusano.
Design has always been a reflection of the world around us—a response to shifting perspectives, cultural movements, and the ways we choose to live. Few places capture this spirit of reinvention quite like Milan, where every spring Italy’s fashion capital transforms into the epicentre of global creativity. This year’s Milan Design Week was a celebration of curiosity and connection. From the immersive displays of Salone del Mobile to the courtyards of Brera and the bold installations of Fuorisalone, designers, architects, artists, and brands explored new ways of thinking about the objects and spaces that surround us. What stood out most was the renewed appreciation for craftsmanship. As artificial intelligence and emerging technologies become more integrated into our daily lives, there was a meaningful return to the human touch—the artistry of how things are made, the value of skilled hands.
In this autumn edition, Issue 110, we explore the people and ideas shaping contemporary design. We look at interiors that invite connection, objects that carry meaning, and innovations that suggest a more thoughtful future. In the same way that great design finds harmony between intention and expression, so too does a life well lived. For this issue’s cover, we meet Benito Skinner, a master of reinvention who built a career stepping into the shoes of others—“pop stars, reality-TV figures, the kind of girls who blame their toxic traits on being Scorpio rising,” writes Alex Nino Gheciu in our story “Benito Skinner Is in on the Joke”—and is now embracing the most unexpected role of all: his own.

NUVO editor Claudia Cusano.
As the boundaries between creativity, culture, and everyday life continue to evolve, thoughtful storytelling has never been more essential. At NUVO, we see ourselves as part of that creative exchange—curating the conversations, ideas, and individuals shaping the world around us. In an era of constant acceleration, there is a renewed appreciation for what is tangible, intentional, and deeply human. Print is having its moment again, reminding us of the pleasure of discovery, of turning a page, and of spending time with stories that stay with us. In this issue, we celebrate the makers, thinkers, and visionaries designing the future—one idea, one object, and one story at a time.
